Prestige and Power are Business of The Month!
There aren't many companies like Prestige & Power. Prestige & Power are the North's foremost providers of market-leading accident management solutions for the UK motor industry, whose forte is in providing fine prestige vehicles. Yet it's not all about unfortunate accidents. Whether it's glamour for that special occasion, an impressive entrance to that all important meeting or simply a weekend of indulgence, Prestige & Power can cater for all your needs. And yes, they actually do have a fleet of exclusive luxury and sports vehicles. I saw them first hand and was like a child in a candy shop!
Last year, three boyhood friends birthed a brainchild business which provides prestige car rental. The team of three invested £2.5m to build its fleet to over 65 vehicles, and now, a further £5m has been allocated to expand the fleet size.
In under a year, they have been established in cornering a niche market. The professional outfit, based in Bradford , is part of the Mint Consortium which owns numerous companies established by the three entrepreneurs. Prestige & Power work closely with franchised Motor Dealers, Body Repairers, Claims Management Companies, Motor Insurers and Solicitor Firms, offering replacement vehicles to clients following a road traffic accident. Their elected replacement fleet currently consists of a broad range of marques including BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Bentley and Audi. Prestige & Power can dispense some of the most desirable cars in the world, for instance a Bentley Continental GT, an Aston Martin DB9 and a Lamborghini Gallardo.
They also offer self drive rental, warranty replacement schemes, chauffeur services as well as sourcing difficult marques for sale. And their reputation in the market place is strengthening by the day.
Working from secure modern offices situated at Royds Enterprise Park , the company employs 20 full-time staff and a national sales force. In addition to their in-house teams, a large network of experienced delivery drivers enable the efficient delivery of their vehicles to any point in mainland UK .
Each of the three directors, Bobby, Umran and Asim, can take responsibility for one part of the business to ensure its overall running. Bobby deals with the corporate sales and long term leasing as well as the credit hire and insurance replacement. Umran oversees the marketing and corporate strategy, whilst Asim deals with the short term rentals, weekend rentals and wedding packages.
In January of 2005 Prestige & Power was piloted with a fleet of 10 brand new vehicles, and in March, Prestige & Power was officially opened by His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, who toured the offices and inspected the company's elite range of motors.
University-educated Bobby, Umran and Asim have experience in various business arenas. Whilst Umran, a certified software engineer, comes from a consultancy background, Asim and Bobby have been in self-employment for many years and come from a specialist finance and insurance background. Umran says, "it's imperative to have a team around you that you implicitly trust. Understandably, we know each other really well. Being aware of each others strengths and weaknesses makes us a formidable force. With many years of corporate experience under our belts, we understood the need to streamline a business on the onset. We believed sincerely that we could do things a lot better than many other companies if we integrated our efforts. So we got together. and naturally we did it a lot better." Preston-bred Bobby thought of the original idea, whilst Umran and Asim provided the 'vast experience and knowledge to help pull it together.'
Prestige & Power have been quick to identify the need for high standards of customer service with their clients, referrers and dealers, and are constantly building and reviewing rapports with all their partners, both present and potential. The company works in partnership with a broad spectrum of organisations all involved in or around the motor industry. Prestige & Power steadily acquires vehicles from partnered dealerships to expand their fleet, and are currently in conference with various franchised BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porsche and Bentley dealers.
As Prestige & Power grow exponentially, the team is developing service levels for both business partners and cooperatives. And as they grow, ambitions become even bigger. "Within the next 5 years we would like a fleet of 1000 vehicles, several franchises and a larger market share". By consumer demand, Prestige & Power are also considering introducing motorcycles for hire and replacement. "We are aiming to be a national name, with national recognition" says Asim. "We're working alongside Bentley, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi at present. We're also introducing motorcycles soon, and would be looking to set up similar relationships with Harley Davidson, Ducati and some of the top end bike manufacturers. We want to expand throughout the UK as quick as possible as our sights are set on becoming international suppliers."
That said, the directors have no intention of severing the bonds they have informally made with the people of Bradford . The whole team at Prestige & Power consider the locally based people their most important customer base, which as a local entity; nurture the company with opportunities for global expansion.
"When we expand, our local business will stand firm to serve our established customer base," says Bobby. "We'll be able to provide clients with a better range of cars, better facilities, and greater employment opportunities."
"We hope to relocate from Royds Enterprise Park to our own purpose-built, signed premises at some point," adds Umran, "but in any case, our head office will always remain in Bradford . We'll always have Bradford at heart."
Prestige & Power are active members of NACHO (National Association of Credit Hire Operators) who are assisting the company on their application for First Tier status with the Association of British Insurers. On behalf of clients involved in a non-fault accident, Prestige & Power have an in house legal department to take away all the frustration and aggravation. They aim to put a driver back into a motor vehicle of the same distinction while their personal vehicle is off the road.
With better customer service, lucrative incentive schemes, partnerships and dealer co-operatives, Prestige & Power are clearly distinguished from their competition.
"Out of the hand full of companies that offer a similar service, we'd consider ourselves to be one of the fastest growing judging by our performance in the last six months," says Umran.
"Our ongoing success is a direct result of the undeniable hard work the Prestige & Power team as a whole have input. The more we let our fleet of vehicles grow, the more individuals we can help."
